I try to keep my blog light but this story has me steamed. I'll try to balance out my anger by the fun picture I took last weekend.
You know how annoying it is when you are at the store or at work and someone is clearly ill and should stay home? That person feels some sort of obligation to be out and is clearly only thinking of their needs and not that they could be infecting many others. Andrew Speaker, the TB patient in the news recently for traveling the world with a rare, drug-resistant form of TB, is that annoying person X 1000.
I cannot fathom how this guy, who was told by several health officials not to travel, saw fit to traverse across Europe on his wedding and honeymoon and then find a way to SNEAK back into the US after being busted in Europe. Isolation is not enough to punish this guy. Hopefully, when his health returns, he will face some serious charges for his willful neglect of other human life. Even more hopeful is that he didn't infect anyone during his travels or his flights.
Well, all I know is that we wouldn't eat him. When we fly, one of the first things we do is pick out the people we'd most likely eat if the plane crashed into the mountains and we had to eat each other to survive. :-)
