So this isn't the best picture but I was having a heck of a time getting a good shot. I saw a great way to fold fabric to make more space on the Happy Zombie blog and spent a few hours rearranging my fabric stash.
Basically, you take a quilting ruler (mine is 6" wide) and fold the fabric over it. I'd take pictures bu t Zombie's pics are really great.
Though it still looks a little messy-neat, it is pretty organized for me. The top two rows have a lot of my fabric (bins and bins in the basement store more...). I have fabric squares on the second shelf to the right.
The third shelf contains my projects. They are bagged up with all the necessary fabrics and ready to go.
The 4th shelf holds my patterns. Most of them are neatly organized in a Silver Comic Book sleeve with acid free boards. I bought mine from an eBay seller--100 of each for about $17.00 shipped. They are a great way to store patterns.
The bottom shelf (not shown) hold my serger, sewing machine and thread.
I'll try to take a better picture to post.
that's awesome!
I wish we had an extra room. I just crammed some new fabric into my big rubbermaid tote which lives in a too crowded closet.
