I really didn't mean to influence Aidan using my obsession with Daniel Craig. We really did come up with names like Lambie, Louie, Shep. In jest, I mentioned Bond and it stuck.
This little lamb has been a bit of a thorn for me but had a really happy ending.
I started him using vintage chenille (you can see on the front there) and following a 1944 pattern. For me, vintage patterns and vintage fabric don't mix. I make mistakes and ripping vintage fabric ruins it. Thus the reason Bond's head is a little cocked and his coat is mixed.
So I used some handy fleece to help with the job. Vintage satin is used for the ears, vintage buttons for the eyes and a nice silk ribbon is tied around his neck. My first grade embroidery skills are used for his nose and mouth and branding Aidan's name on.
Thus the reason Bond's mouth is a little cocked.
I made this to give to Aidan as an Easter surprise. However, he saw me "embroider" his name on and starting squealing with delight because he realized it was for him! He was so excited he ran around the room. Mommy shed a little tear. Aidan snuggled with Bond all night. Thus, the happy ending.
what a very cute little lamb!
I'm obsessed w/Daniel Craig as well- hey, a mama's got to dream, right?
